“What one generation finds ridiculous, the next accepts; and the third shudders when it looks back on what the first did.”

What does it really mean to be a good person? What is the value of a good deed? Is it even important to be good in a world that constantly rewards bad people?

They’re important questions that are becoming harder to answer, especially as we enter a post-Trump and (hopefully) post-COVID world. If you’re kept up at night wrestling with these thoughts, we’ve got the cure for what ails you – Think Inc. proudly presents An Evening with Peter Singer.

Once labelled “the most dangerous man in the world”, Peter’s arguments are founded on a simple idea – utilitarianism; a theory that states the most ethical choice, in any situation, is the one that provides the greatest good for the greatest number.

This concept underpins all of Peter’s work, and was the basis for his 2009 seminal book The Life You Can Save – a manual so influential that it inspired the global Effective Altruism movement, and was lauded by Bill and Melinda Gates!

He’s also responsible for the revolutionary Animal Liberation: A New Ethics for Our Treatment of Animals – a book that’s universally regarded as the philosophical foundation of the animal rights movement, moving millions to adopt vegetarianism and veganism.

It’s no wonder he’s considered the world’s most influential living philosopher! (And he’s still going– check out his arguments on how to keep discussion free at times of mounting repression of ideas.)

It’s no wonder he’s considered the world’s most influential living philosopher! (And he’s still going– check out his arguments on how to keep discussion free at times of mounting repression of ideas.)

Sure, today the idea of a meat-free diet is mainstream, but when Peter wrote Animal Liberation back in 1975, the concept was considered straight up weird. He’s been ahead of the curve on so many issues, not only forecasting modern attitudes, but helping shape them as well.

A vocal proponent of voluntary euthanasia and abortion, controversially campaigning for their legalisation since the 70’s, Peter has faced much backlash over his ideas, and yet has always stood steadfastly by what he believes is right.

Today, his ideas need to be amplified greatly. If we had fought against the immoral and unnecessary institutional cruelty imposed on animals for their meat, we may have avoided the COVID-19 crisis altogether. If global populations adopted the tenets of utilitarianism, polarising figures like Trump may never have found office.

Peter is an intellectual heavyweight and we are thrilled to be touring him around Australia and New Zealand. He will be live on stage speaking to audiences in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland in August 2021.

Come and learn how to apply ethics to your everyday life, make the greatest impact you can on society, and gain insight into the mind of the world’s most influential philosopher.

All net proceeds from the tour will be donated to Peter’s non-profit, high impact philanthropy organisation The Life You Can Save, in an effort to alleviate global poverty. Also, everyone who attends will receive a copy of his book of the same name – great, right?

Grab your tickets today, and as always, think responsibly.

The postponement is due to maintained restrictions due to the global pandemic.

While COVID-19 vaccines are being rolled out across the world, the pandemic’s impact on the touring industry persists, with venues left unable to host full-capacity events until the second half of this year.

It’s a move that makes sense as public safety needs to come above all else.

Postponing and rescheduling tours at the best of times is never easy, and we completely understand the frustrations you may have about this decision. But please know that this move wasn’t made lightly.

If you’ve already purchased tickets to one of the shows, they will be automatically updated to be valid for the August 2021 tour – there’s no extra cost to you.

Please note that your tickets are non-refundable, but be assured that when any Think Inc. event is cancelled, regardless of the reason, you will receive a refund in full.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding about this postponement, and can’t wait to see you in-person during the tour!

In the event that venues don’t allow for full capacity events, we may be forced to postpone our tour with Peter Singer.

Should this be the case, we will inform all ticket-holders via email.

Our COVID Safety Plan

We are keenly aware that COVID-19 remains an ongoing issue around the world, and are committed to keeping our patrons safe. That’s why we’ve developed a robust COVID Safety Plan that lays out how we are actively taking steps to minimise the threat of its spread.
